In the third edition of the SDG Good Practices in Sustainable Development, 53 initiatives from the private sector in Ecuador received an award for their contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals. UEES (Espiritu Santo University) was recognized for its project “Science and Academia Serving Ecuador: A Large-Scale Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic,” led by Professor Researcher Derly Andrade.

This prestigious recognition was granted by Global Compact Ecuador in support of SDG 3, which corresponds to Health and Well-being. The evaluation process was audited by a specialized firm and includes a rigorous methodology that involves a jury composed of 25 members from 13 nationalities.

The award ceremony, held in Quito, was the venue where Professor Derly Andrade and Dean Isidro Fierro received this important award on behalf of the UEES. This recognition is the result of the university’s constant scientific work carried out by its Research Center.

UEES reaffirms its commitment to cutting-edge research and dedication to finding innovative solutions to address the challenges of humanity. We will continue working for sustainable development and the well-being of Ecuadorian society.
