In the III Edition of the 1TP5ODS Recognition of Good Practices in Sustainable Development, 53 winning practices from the private sector in Ecuador, which are promoting the Sustainable Development Goals, have been highlighted. UEES was recognized for its project «Science and academia at the service of Ecuador: a large-scale response to the Covid-19 pandemic», led by research professor Derly Andrade.
This prestigious recognition granted by the Global Compact Ecuador is part of SDG 3 corresponding to Health and Wellness. The rigorous methodology used in the evaluation process included a jury composed of 25 members of 13 nationalities and was audited by a specialized firm.
The award ceremony, held in Quito, was the stage where Professor Derly Andrade and Dean Isidro Fierro received this important award on behalf of UEES. This recognition is the result of the constant scientific work carried out by the university's Research Center.
