In the Foundational Auditorium of the Universidad Espiritu Santo, the ”.”Pact for the Circular Economy”The signing was promoted by the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fisheries (MPCEIP), the Vice-Presidency of the Republic, the Galapagos Special Regime Council and the Ministry of the Environment with the industrial and academic sectors, within the framework of the National Agreement.

The pact seeks to implement practices for the efficient use of resources; reduction, reuse, recycling and industrialization of the residual elements involved in the production processes and thus increase recycling and the amount of material reinserted in production chains for future years.

The Circular Economy is emerging as one of the challenges to be managed within the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Axis of the National Agreement, so that stakeholders can participate, propose and build a model of sustainable production and responsible consumption that can be implemented by 2030.
