The Plenary of the Judiciary Council (CJ) appointed, on Monday, September 14, 2020, the Committee of Experts that will verify the Merit Phase of the Public Competition of Opposition and Merits, Challenge and Social Control for the Selection and Appointment of Judges of the National Court of Justice (CNJ).

This event was held virtually and the President of the FT, María del Carmen Maldonado, swore in the new six members of the Committee.

The dean of the faculty of Law, Politics and Development of the UEES, Dr. Santiago Velázquez, is one of those selected.

“I am very grateful for the trust placed in me to fulfill this management, always with a commitment to responsible and selfless work.”

This great challenge consists of the selection of suitable professionals to form the most important jurisdictional body of the Judicial Function. It is in charge of verifying the relevance and validity of the different documents that have been submitted during the merit phase of the competition.

These documents relate to the academic training of the applicants, the works they have written on legal matters, their participation as teachers, instructors in seminars or courses.
