At the Foundational Hall of Espiritu Santo University, the Workshop: Economic Freedom Ecuador was held, organized by Free Ecuador.

Different forums were held where judicial, economic and legal issues were discussed. The first one began at 9:00 a.m. with the participation of the Alberto DahikFrancisco Swett, Dean of the Faculty of Entrepreneurship, Business and Economics, Fausto Ortiz and Jorge Gallardo.

At 11:00 a.m. the Commercial Opening Workshop continued with the intervention of the Executive Vice President of the Chamber of Industries Luis Alberto Salvador, Gabriela Calderón and the President of the Chamber of Commerce Pablo Arosemena Marriott who gave the following opinion:

“Free trade is the algorithm of wealth creation. We need fewer tariffs because they only make life more expensive. The solution is to reduce protectionist measures.”

Issues such as tariff reductions, agreements with trading partners and reduction of red tape for business were discussed.

The workshop ended with the participation of Jorge Zavala Egas, Hernan Perez Loose and the Minister of the Interior, Maria Paula Romo, where they discussed confidence in the National Police and the influence of crime on the economy.
