Presidential days: Jan Topic highlights security as a priority

UEES - Espiritu Santo University > News > Presidential days: Jan Topic highlights security as a priority

The Presidential Seminar 2023, held at the Universidad Espíritu Santo, was attended by candidate Jan Topic as the third guest speaker. During his presentation, Topic emphasized that, if appointed President of the Republic, his main focus would be to combat insecurity, drug trafficking and violence that afflict the country, as these are issues of great concern to citizens.

Candidate Topic discussed with the students possible security solutions that could be implemented in various scenarios, and shared some of his ideas in this regard.

During his speech, he mentioned: «Imagine a world where you put a neural network that begins to map how money moves, for example, analyze all the expenses of legal and natural persons in the country and correlate their income. It does not make sense that a person earning 5 thousand dollars a month owns 3 mansions. With the amount of data available, it is possible to train a neural network that learns how money moves and generates alerts to the police».

The 2023 Presidential Days are a valuable space for dialogue and citizen participation, and will continue to be held throughout the week. This event seeks to provide the presidential candidates with a platform to present their proposals and establish direct contact with students and the community in general.
