The business incubator DNAMO of Samborondón, a project of the Mayor's Office of Samborondón, implemented strategies to strengthen the development of local entrepreneurship. In collaboration with the Faculty of International Studies of UEES, this project provided training to entrepreneurs of the canton, grouped in the entrepreneurial community of Samborondón. DNAMO, providing them with the tools to grow their businesses in a sustainable manner.
The linkage program between the university and the entrepreneurial community was based on the triple helix model, which fosters collaboration between academia, industry and government to promote innovation and development. The economy of Samborondón, characterized by its vulnerability, benefited from this initiative that sought to generate long-term impact. Through training and support, strategies were designed to improve business management and promote the sustainability of the incubated businesses.
The project benefited 25 entrepreneurs and their families, who received development proposals tailored to their needs. In addition, a total of 40 UEES students participated in the initiative, applying their academic knowledge in real scenarios. This not only allowed the strengthening of local businesses, but also boosted the development of key competencies in students, such as problem solving, teamwork and effective communication.
The project implementation period was from August 28 to December 17, 2024. The incubator DNAMO reaffirmed its role as an engine of economic and social growth in Samborondón, facilitating the path towards a more resilient and entrepreneurial community.
