At UEES we take off our masks

UEES - Espiritu Santo University > News > At UEES we take off our masks

This Thursday, April 28th at 10:00 a.m., a ceremony was held in the central plaza of the UEES, where we will remember the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Once 100% of our students, faculty, administrators and general employees have their full doses of vaccination, our studies determine that the population may have more than 60% of natural immunity.

That the WHO has stated that once the positivity rate is less than 5%, relaxation measures such as the use of masks in open spaces can be taken and the data we have at the moment from our partner laboratory UEESBIOLAB and other laboratories in the city indicate a positivity rate of less than 4%.

That countries such as Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States and Brazil have decided to stop using face masks in open spaces.

UEES invites our entire community to put aside the use of the mask in our central square as a start to the return of looking at our faces and sharing our smiles in this post-pandemic stage.

We will continue to observe strict biosafety standards and will continue to wear face masks in our classrooms and enclosed spaces.
