The Center for Economic and Social Studies for Development (CESDE) of Espiritu Santo University organized the conference «The Ecuadorian economy at the beginning of Lenin Moreno's government».

The fiscal situation, the economic contraction and the overvalued currency in real terms were the main topics analyzed by Augusto de la Torre, professor at Columbia University and International Consultant, Gabriela Calderón, Editor of ElCato.org and columnist for El Universo newspaper, and León Roldós Aguilera, former vice president and columnist for El Comercio newspaper, in an academic panel with students, professors and external guests.

The event was attended by around 300 people and was aimed at analyzing and obtaining possible solutions for the challenges that the new government will face and discussing a potential program to free the economy and preserve dollarization.
