The ceremony for the signing of the degree registration act, delivery of invitations and toast in honor of the graduates of the “Enrique Ortega Moreira” Faculty of Medical Sciences, was held this Wednesday, September 12, 2018, in the facilities of the Napoleon Hall of the UEES Convention Center.

The event began at 17:00 and was addressed by Dr. Marlena León (UEES Academic Vice Rector), the “Words of the Graduate” were presided over by the student Claudia Castillo, and Dr. Pedro Barberán (Dean of the Faculty of Medicine UEES), offered the toast of honor and addressed a message of reflection to the graduates:

“(...) To be a doctor is to be able to have a doctor-patient relationship in which listening predominates, with an accessible teaching attitude to achieve communication with the patient. On the other hand, never forget to implement in your professional and personal role, the 4 H's of Humility, Humanity, Honesty, and a touch of Humor; that is to say, sow joy where there is sadness”, he explained.

The meeting was attended by “12 graduates of the UEES School of Medicine”, who during the toast, relived their emotions and experiences such as the intense days of internship work in hospitals, the moments of uncertainty during their university years, and those friends and teachers who marked their lives in a positive way, shaping their behavior and character, becoming part of their family.

As a special moment of the ceremony, the UEES Medicine graduating class of 2018, “Dr. Alan Herrera”, was awarded for his research performance.
