The internationalization of higher education has become increasingly relevant in today’s globalized world. Dual degree programs provide a great way to achieve this, as they offer several advantages to students and institutions. In this context, the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and the Espiritu Santo University through the School of International Studies have successfully engaged in academic cooperation to foster international education.
The international agreement signed by both universities allows students from the International Negotiations bachelor’s degree program at Espiritu Santo University to validate their last year of academic study for the first year of the master’s degree in Management at Sacro Cuore in Milan. With strategic alliances like this one, students receive multiple benefits like advancing their master’s courses, reducing the time of the study, and receiving a preferential tuition fee. In addition, it also enables them to gain an international perspective on their field of study and experience a different academic and cultural environment.
Moreover, the agreement between UNICATT and UEES constitutes a great example of advancing internationalization in higher education and UEES’ commitment to forming students with a global perspective. This agreement provides an opportunity for students to study in two different countries, gaining a deeper understanding of global business practices, cultural differences, and international networks. This experience can be an asset in their future careers, as it provides them with a competitive edge and a unique set of skills that can be applied in a variety of international settings. Furthermore, UEES students interested in this joint program receive personalized admission guidance and support from the Sacro Cuore staff. However, it is important to highlight that only the most outstanding candidates are selected, contributing to the program’s overall quality.
In addition to the benefits for students, working together with international partners is also advantageous for institutions. Partnerships like the one between UNICATT and UEES facilitate the exchange of ideas and best practices between faculties, allowing them to learn from each other’s experiences. These partnerships also provide opportunities for joint research projects, which can lead to publications and increased visibility for the institutions involved.
In this context, a delegation of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore visited our campus with the main purpose of promoting among students of International Negotiations at the School of International Studies the opportunity to complete the master’s degree in Management. Additionally, to continue increasing the relationship between both institutions, the representatives Edilio Mazzoleni, Director; Gianluca Samsa, Associate Director for Education Abroad & Double Degrees; Ilaria Bossi, Associate Director for International Recruitment; and Martina Peretti, International Student Advisor also met with deans and directors of different Schools at UEES to explore opportunities for further cooperation. The delegation met with the School of Engineering, Communication, Entrepreneurship, Economics and Business Management, and Humanities to create dual degree programs, personalized exchange agreements to obtain minors, and other potential collaboration opportunities.
