UEES - Espiritu Santo University > Law > UEES promotes a culture of legality in Ecuador

As part of the campaign «Education in a Culture of Legality», the Universidad Espíritu Santo (UEES) in collaboration with the Ministry of Government, the National Court of Justice, the Judiciary Council and the Mayor's Office of Samborondón, organized the forum «Building a Culture of Legality in Ecuador: A task for all».

The main objective of the event, which brought together prominent state authorities, was to promote citizenship, instill values and generate a voluntary commitment to comply with the rules governing social coexistence.

The panel discussion was attended by the Minister of Government, Mónica Palencia; the Mayor of Samborondón, Juan José Yúnez; the journalist of Teleamazonas, Liz Valarezo; and the Director of the Graduate School of Law of UEES, Pablo Alarcón.

During the event, the Minister of Government emphasized: «The culture of legality is a way of life where from our actions we can change the environment. We must work together to build a better future for the next generations. Let's recover values in civil society, at school and in the family».

For his part, Pablo Alarcón said: «It is essential to address corruption not only in the public sphere, but also in the private sphere. Corruption arises from small daily actions that transcend into the public sphere. We must make these acts visible and correct them from the private sphere, whether from the family or from the State.».

Espiritu Santo University reaffirms its commitment to building a solid culture of legality in Ecuador, based on democratic values, citizenship, ethics and love for the country. This forum is only the beginning of a series of actions towards this end.
