The government set up the 171 hotline, but this service is insufficient due to the number of calls and constant complaints from users who do not receive attention.
If a person suspects or experiences any symptoms of COVID-19, he/she can contact our call center at 04-5000-950 extension 9010, where more than eighty doctors will attend to citizens' calls from Friday, March 27. The service will be available from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
The doctor Pedro Barberán, The Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences UEES, says that the professionals passed a course of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). That is, they can guide patients who feel COVID-19 discomforts such as dry cough and fever.
“We assist them via telephone, tell them how to act in the event of an emergency and reinforce the sanitary measures they should follow.”,
says Barberán.
The quarantine decreed to stop coronavirus infections may provoke feelings of stress, frustration or anger. For this reason, the UEES will also provide psychological assistance to those who require it. The objective is to provide emotional support to those who feel that they are going through episodes of anxiety, depression, burnout syndrome, as a result of the current situation.
This service will have the participation of teachers from the UEES School of Psychology, psychology alumni and students in their final year of studies. It can be accessed by dialing the same number but extension 9011. The service will be available from Monday to Sunday between 08:00 and 23:00.
