Espiritu Santo University is the first private university on the coast of the country to be ranked #1 in the International Perspective category by Times Higher Education Latin America University Rankings 2021.

Times Higher Education Latin America University Rankings lists the best universities in the Latin America and Caribbean region. This year 177 universities from 13 countries were considered.

The performance indicators are grouped into five areas: Teaching (learning environment); Research (volume, income and reputation); Citations (research impact); International perspective (faculty, students and research); and Relationship with industry (knowledge transfer).
