“Sportsmen and women, this is not just another act, it is the beginning of a milestone.».

With these words, Dr. Guillermo Flores, Institutional Comptroller, opened the sporting event of the year: the X UEES Sports Games.

The event, which brought together students from various undergraduate and graduate programs, teachers and UEES alumni, was held on Friday, October 30 at the Sports Complex.

Uniforms, banners and camaraderie were the essential elements in the inaugural parade in which the teams competed to be chosen as the best uniformed team and unveiled their candidate for the election of Miss Sports 2016.

With the cheers of the bars, the candidates were presented to the jury formed by: Danilo Rosero, Ecuadorian singer; Mayi Zambrano, Estrella de Octubre 2016 and Jessica Jaramillo, Coordinator of the Center for International Studies at UEES.

Finally, Mariola Vejarano was chosen as Miss Sports 2016, María Isabel Piñeyro Garcia as Miss Congeniality and Estefanía Zambrano took the award for Miss Confraternity. On the other hand, “Survivors” and “Crackovia” were chosen as best uniformed team, female and male respectively.

The event, which was hosted by Valerie Villalva, Teleamazonas morning news anchor and UEES student, featured artistic presentations and season opening games in which participants demonstrated their talent and motivation for the sport.
