During the 40th Interamerican Congress of Psychology, Zuleima Santalla, research professor at Espiritu Santo University, presented key findings from a study on unethical behavior in organizational contexts. His research compared the cases of Ecuador and Venezuela, analyzing how the perception of organizational ethics influences the attitude and willingness of employees to engage in misconduct that benefits the company.
This paper shows how the perceived ethical culture within organizations can act as a protective or risk factor in the face of morally questionable decisions. The cross-country comparison allows us to visualize behavioral patterns influenced by the cultural environment, offering useful tools for responsible organizational management in Latin America.
The participation of UEES in this important international congress strengthens its academic projection and commitment to the development of applied knowledge. It also demonstrates how university research can contribute to the design of ethical and sustainable corporate policies, while fostering academic exchange and regional cooperation through dialogue among specialists.
