UEES - Espiritu Santo University > Taking Knowledge Beyond Borders > UEES Excels in Research at the International Level

On this occasion, we are pleased to highlight the achievements of researchers at the Universidad de Especialidades Espíritu Santo (UEES), who have left an indelible mark in the field of international research.

Antonio R. Gómez-García Ph.D, holds a PhD in Occupational Risk Prevention from the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health of the University of Málaga - Spain. Since 2019 he is a senior researcher and professor at the University Espiritu Santo, Ecuador (UEES). Currently, he is the director of the Ecuadorian Observatory of Occupational Safety and Health (OESST) at UEES. His research is focused on understanding the impact of working conditions on workers' health and generating knowledge for public policy decision-making.

Dr. Gómez has been accepted for a postdoctoral research stay at the Department of Medicine and Life Sciences of the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), Barcelona - Spain. Together with international researchers from UPF, Dr. Gómez will develop the UEES research project “Monitoring the employment, labor and health conditions of older workers in Ecuador: analysis and recommendations for healthier aging”.

The joint collaboration between the two research groups will make it possible to address new challenges in occupational health in the face of the demographic changes that the working population of Ecuador will present in the coming years.

We are also pleased to celebrate another milestone achieved by Dr. Javier Changoluisa, who recently received the “Best Quantitative Paper” award at the ACERE 2024 Australian Centre for Entrepreneurship Research Exchange Conference.

Javier Changoluisa is the director of the Doctorate in Administration and Management of Organizations at the Universidad Espíritu Santo and previously worked as a research associate at the Department of Business Dynamics, Innovation and Economic Change at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, Germany.

The director is an expert in the area of entrepreneurship and innovation, is part of a wide network of international scientific collaboration, has published in the most relevant scientific journals in the area and also has experience in the field of technology transfer, acquired as a visiting researcher at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA.
