Siembratón 2021

UEES participated in the Siembratón 2021, organized by the Directorate of Environment, Sustainability and Climate Change of the Mayor's Office of Guayaquil.

This project, carried out with the support of private enterprise, aims to strengthen the conservation of natural areas. Also participating in the Siembratón were municipal directors, councilors, social organizations and members of the Gotas de Luz municipal choir for the blind.

In 2021, more than 2,000 native species were planted, thanks to the support of environmentally conscious organizations that contribute to the sustainable development of the city.

The strategy for 2022 is to restore the natural areas with a combination of species including fast-growing trees such as muyuyo, carob, cascol, balsamo, Fernán Sánchez; native fruit trees such as plum, palo santo, custard apple and anona; and slow-growing tree species such as guayacán, oak and laurel.
