The Universidad de Especialidades Espiritu Santo (UEES) was the epicenter of an outstanding academic simulation that brought together students from various educational institutions from all over the country.
For three intense days, young students immersed themselves in the exciting world of diplomacy and international relations, representing different countries and facing global challenges. Participants assumed the role of delegates from real nations, negotiating and debating issues of international relevance.
The Model United Nations UEES is a platform that fosters learning, discussion and cooperation among young people, giving them the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during their university education in a global context. In addition, this event promotes understanding of international politics and conflict resolution through dialogue.
«This model allows us to address global issues from the perspective of different countries. For example, a student could represent the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and, in doing so, explore issues of global importance such as the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons or global warming from a British perspective,» said Isidro Fierro, Dean of the School of International Studies at UEES.
The event was enthusiastically attended by dozens of students from various universities and colleges in Ecuador, who demonstrated a high level of commitment and skills in the art of diplomacy and negotiation.
The ninth edition of the Model United Nations UEESMUN not only enriched the academic and cultural landscape, but also reaffirmed UEES' commitment to education, training and the promotion of diplomacy as a tool for global conflict resolution.
