Times Higher Education (THE), the most influential and important ranking in the world, ranked Universidad Espíritu Santo (UEES) as the best university in Ecuador. This significant promotion marks a milestone for the institution and makes it a revelation university in Latin America.

UEES has been improving its position vertiginously and this year, thanks to its academic quality, cutting-edge technology, focus on research, graduate profile, international reputation, contribution and linkage with society and impressive infrastructure, it achieved enough points to be ranked as the number 1 university in the country. In addition, it reached the important position of 54th in Latin America.

Times Higher Education (THE) is a London-based international agency that assesses the quality of higher education worldwide.

“We have stood out for instilling fundamental values in our students, such as academic excellence, democracy, freedom, equity and peace. These principles have guided the development of high quality educational programs and the formation of professionals with a comprehensive vision,” said Eliana Molina, academic vice rector.

UEES continues to stand out in various global and regional rankings, such as the QS, which recognized it as one of only 5 5-star universities in Latin America, together with the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey, Universidad de los Andes, Universidad Nacional de Colombia and Universidad de Puebla. In addition, in the Innovatec ranking, it stands out as one of the 10 best online universities in Latin America.

The institution is proud of its achievements and sees this new goal as a motivation to continue inspiring and innovating in the educational field. It is also grateful for the effort and dedication of all the teachers, collaborators and students who have contributed to making UEES a leader in its sector.

The Chancellor of the institution, Carlos Ortega Maldonado, in a communiqué addressed to the university community, emphasized that “this important achievement is the result of the collaborative work of each and every one of the members of the institution, which shows that, as in the country, «When we all want to, together we can».
