Generating ideas that have a positive impact on society is the main objective of the international advertising festival, La Pieza, which held its inauguration and launch of brief 2023.

Four leading universities from different parts of the world will demonstrate how communication can be used to address global issues. The participating institutions are: ESPM (Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing) from Brazil, Universidad del Desarrollo from Chile, Brigham Young University (BYU) from the United States and Universidad de Especialidades Espíritu Santo (UEES) from Ecuador.

«For UEES, it is an honor to work in promoting these causes, as we are sure that the end result will have an impact not only locally, but also regionally,» said Danny Barbery, dean of Communication during the welcome speech.

Sergio Gamboa, representative of the Universidad del Desarrollo (UDD), emphasized that «this festival is born with the firm intention of generating awareness and catalyzing a significant change in our society».

The themes on which the students will work on their advertising project for this edition are Ageism, Narcoculture and Migration, challenges that require deep reflection and creative solutions from the participants.

Winners will be announced on November 9 and will have demonstrated their ability to use creativity and communication as powerful tools to address crucial social issues in our world today.
