Universidad Espiritu Santo (UEES), reaffirming its leadership in educational innovation, presented its first courtroom in the metaverse, named in honor of Dr. Jorge Zavala Egas. This innovative virtual space was designed for law students, who participated in a simulation of a divorce hearing with children.
“The metaverse is a virtual world that we access through devices that make us feel immersed, interacting with all its elements as if we were really inside,” explained Santiago Velázquez, dean of Law at UEES. «It is an experience that transcends physical barriers and transports us to a new world through virtual reality glasses.».
Student Lilibeth Zarsosa expressed her enthusiasm: “This tool will be of great help to us, allowing us to practice with our peers and share knowledge with students from other universities. This makes learning more dynamic and interactive. In addition, I believe that implementing this technology in the country's judicial system could help ensure that cases do not go unpunished and promote the rule of law and justice”.
With this initiative, UEES continues to innovate in the educational field, offering new ways of learning through simulations that prepare its students to become highly trained professionals.
