On Wednesday, July 8, through the virtual platform zoom, the inauguration of the Graduate School of Law of the Universidad Espiritu Santo took place.
The school was created to integrate the different postgraduate programs it currently offers, which have increased over time. This is the case of the Master's Degrees in Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Procedural Law, Business Law and Criminalistics.
The ceremony was attended by the highest authorities of the Universidad Espíritu Santo such as: Dr. Carlos Ortega, Chancellor; Dr. Joaquín Hernández, Rector; Galo García Feraud, President of the Advisory Council; Dr. Eliana Molina, Academic Vice Rector and Dr. Juan Pablo Ortega, Administrative Vice Rector.
The first graduate program in UEES law was in 2009, with the specialization in Constitutional Law, which would soon be joined by the Master's in Criminal Law and the Master's in Constitutional Law with a total of 73 students. It currently has 690 active students and 406 graduates, which quantitatively clearly evidences the growth that the school has had in the last period.
The ceremony was attended by international personalities from other institutions such as: Paolo Comanducci, Rector of the University of Genoa; Dr. Adriana Zapata Giraldo, Dean of the Law School of the Universidad Externado de Colombia and María del Carmen Maldonado, President of the Judiciary Council.
“Congratulations to UEES and its authorities, headed by Chancellor Dr. Carlos Ortega and its rector Joaquín Hernández Ph.D. It is a great honor for me to assume the direction of the School, thank you for your confidence.”
Pablo Alarcón, Ph.D. Director of the UEES Graduate School of Law.
