A visual journey full of emotions to commemorate the International Biodiversity Day 2025, The exhibition was like this Ecuador in Images. The event was organized by the German cooperation, GIZ in conjunction with INABIO, and took place at the Universidad Espíritu Santo (UEES), where Esteban Barrera and Lucas Bustamante had the opportunity to present to the students their photographs and videos taken in the different regions of the country.

The main theme that inspired the exhibition was harmony with nature and sustainable development. This was done with the purpose of promoting the conservation of biodiversity through respect and care. The exhibitors shared their images and their experience behind each one of them, demonstrating the importance of conserving the environment, as well as highlighting the beauty that surrounds us.

Ileana Herrera, professor at the School of Engineering, said: “The photographers, with their art, will help us reflect on our relationship as human beings with biodiversity.

During the exhibition Ecuador in Images, emphasized that our natural heritage is not only a source of life, but also a source of sustenance for our culture, identity and economy. Therefore, protecting this wealth is a responsibility that we must all assume.
