The students of the Faculty of Medical Sciences «Enrique Moreira Ortega».», The University of Espiritu Santo (UEES) will perform 1,000 rapid tests to the inhabitants of the Puná parish in two days, one on June 5 and 6, and the other on Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13.

This work is articulated from the Directorate of Health and Hygiene as part of the agreement with UEES, to strengthen the academy, collaborate with the municipal medical network and serve the citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.

This will provide probabilistic results of the prevalence of COVID-19 in this rural parish, which has a population of 16,000. This community outreach work will be led by the Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Dr. Pedro Barberán Torres in the roofed multipurpose court located in the health sub-center, where a tent was set up for temporary attention to people with respiratory problems.

On Wednesday morning and afternoon, June 3, 73 rapid COVID-19 tests donated by the Municipality of Guayaquil were performed on children, adolescents and staff of the Casa Hogar Inés Chambers, located in the south of the city.
