The UEES will bring together key figures in dentistry worldwide.
The University of Espiritu Santo (UEES) will host world-renowned dental specialists at the 3rd International Congress of Dental Specialties, to be held on 3, September 4 and 5, 2025. The meeting, endorsed by the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador, will mark a milestone in the continuing education of professionals in the sector.
This edition will include the participation of 30 international speakers, considered benchmarks in their specialties. Among them, the Prof. Gwen Swennen, He is a leading figure in maxillofacial surgery and facial plastic surgery, director of the Bruges Cleft and Craniofacial Centre (Belgium), whose academic and clinical trajectory makes him one of the stellar guests. In addition, the Dr. Daniela Garib, leader in orthodontics and craniofacial malformations, current chair of the Department of Orthodontics at the University of São Paulo, Brazil.
The academic program will also include the Dr. Jean Marc Retrouvey, Director of Orthodontics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (USA) and honorary professor at Ho Chi Minh University, as well as to the Dr. Gonzalo Gutiérrez, recognized for his expertise in orthodontic biomechanics. In the field of dental trauma, the Dr. Liran Levin, President of the International Association for Dental Traumatology (IADT), will share his experience in the development of international guidelines for the prevention and management of dental injuries.
As part of the congress, the following will be held advanced research workshops in dentistry, with national and international facilitators, and will be awarded the Hatton Award. The winner will represent Ecuador at the IADR International San Diego 2026, strengthening the country's position in global dental research.
This academic event has the support of key scientific organizations such as the Ecuadorian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (AECOMF), the Ecuadorian Society of Orthodontics and Orthopedics (SOOG) and the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), consolidating the UEES congress as a reference platform for the development, updating and connection of the national and international dental community.
