The Arbitration and Mediation Center of Espiritu Santo University (CAMUEES) celebrated its tenth anniversary with a special ceremony on August 1, where it appointed its outstanding arbitrators and mediators for 2024. This year, the CAMUEES was included in the prestigious Leaders League international ranking as one of the six arbitration centers recognized in Ecuador and the only one promoted by a university in the country.
The Center has stood out for offering 100 virtual % services, in addition to having modern facilities on the university campus. It has become a national and international reference for its personalized and agile treatment, facilitating the resolution of conflicts of users, companies and lawyers, avoiding the need to resort to the ordinary justice system.
During these 10 years, we have provided solutions to cases that include alimony, divorce, labor, tenancy and contract problems. This is possible thanks to the expertise of its professionals in commercial, tax and all areas of law. 9 out of 10 cases received have reached solutions between the parties without having to go to court or to procrastinate in an inadequate manner and participated in the 10 % of tax mediations at the national level.
«From this corner, from this square meter, as arbitrators or mediators, we are doing a lot for the country and I think we should feel happy and proud, because what our country needs most is optimism, faith in Ecuador, faith that we are capable of making transformations and changes,» said Carlos Ortega Maldonado, UEES Chancellor.
“CAMUEES offers society and the country an independent, transparent and legally qualified alternative to resolve conflicts and controversies. This body has the legitimacy and authority conferred by the Constitution of the Republic and national laws, as well as the moral authority of the academy,” said Héctor Yépez, director of the Center.
The ceremony was led by Héctor Yépez Martínez, Director of the Center, and Santiago Velázquez, President of the Center and Dean of the Faculty of Law, Politics and Development of UEES.
