On Friday, April 13, 2018, Holy Spirit University presented the International Forum “The Finnish Educational Miracle” as part of its Teacher's Day celebration.
The event was attended by various education professionals, who offered their knowledge and extensive experience in the field, in order to contrast it with the Finnish educational model.
Roberto Passalaigue, Chancellor of Ecotec University and Irene Ancín Adell, Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Education Sciences UEES, opened the forum with an in-depth presentation on the advantages and disadvantages of the Ecuadorian education model.
On the other hand, Master Alba Sillero Vigil, an expert teacher in Finnish education, who works in Helsinki at the Käpylä school, gave a detailed presentation of the Finnish educational model and its impact on the development of students.
Finally, the forum closed with the participation of the Minister of Education, Fander Falconí, who assured that changes are being implemented in the educational system in order to streamline administrative processes and promote innovation.
The event, organized by the School of Education and held at the Events Hall of the UEES Convention Center, was attended by around 1,500 teachers from schools, colleges and universities in the country.
