The VI Security Summit, organized by the Graduate School of Law of Espiritu Santo University and Dole Fresh Fruit International, concluded successfully after three days of intense days of analysis and debate. This event brought together businessmen, academics and security experts from countries such as Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala, Chile, Chile, Spain, Costa Rica and Honduras, The purpose of the meeting was to address the most pressing challenges facing foreign trade in the region.

During the summit, crucial issues were discussed, such as the growing threats to foreign trade in Latin America, the importance of strengthening port security and the implementation of good security practices. In addition, the role of maritime law in the resolution of high-intensity conflicts was highlighted, underscoring its relevance in guaranteeing the stability and sustainability of international trade.

“We have had the participation of international speakers to strengthen knowledge and exchange of good practices. With the contributions made, we have generated a new contribution to the culture of legality and maritime safety and foreign trade,» said Pablo Alarcón, director of the Graduate School of Law.

 

 

Diego Soria, security director of Dole Fresh Fruit International, said that «an important step has been taken to unite the Academy to all the struggles that the port export sector is undertaking to combat insecurity and threats to foreign trade».

The VI Security Summit marked a milestone in the collaboration between the academic and business sectors, establishing a solid platform for the creation of joint strategies to promote port security. In this way, UEES ratifies its commitment and contribution to the fight against corruption, organized crime and drug trafficking.
