The School of Communication of the Universidad Espiritu Santo (UEES) held the first edition of the BRAND MAKERS, The contest is designed to promote a culture of respect, legality and peace through original, creative and innovative communication proposals.

The event arose as a response to deep-rooted social problems, such as corruption, disrespect for the rules and “viveza criolla”, which often begin with small everyday actions, such as parking in an inappropriate place or cheating on an exam.

“Aware of this reality, UEES is committed to training students who, through communication, contribute to generate a positive change with the culture of legality is intended to change not only our university but also the country,” said Danny Barbery, dean.

The initiative was developed by students from the careers of Communication, Marketing, Interactive Graphic Design, Audiovisual Production, Media and Content Management, who presented innovative projects to convey their message.

The participating groups -Invisible Scars, Change the Chip, BetrUEES, Play Fair, and Good Deeds.- proposed strategies that included audiovisual content, interactive games, immersive experiences and mural contests, among other formats.

Among the outstanding slogans of the contest were: «In games we reject the cheater, but in real life we accept the known one.», a phrase that invites reflection on the coherence between values and actions.

The winning team was Play Fair, composed of Viviana Aguirre, Alejandra Ramírez, María Sol Quintero, Romina Mera and Milena Pérez. His proposal will be implemented in the coming months as part of an institutional campaign.

BRAND MAKERS is an example of the impact of communication as a tool for social transformation and of the fundamental role played by future professionals in the construction of a more ethical society, aware of respect for the rules, both written and implicit, that guarantee peaceful coexistence.
