The Universidad Espiritu Santo (UEES) stood out with an outstanding participation in the III National University Sports Games 2025, developed in the city of Cuenca by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture. An event that brought together 20 universities and more than 2,000 athletes from all over the country, demonstrating the talent and preparation of its student-athletes in different disciplines. The delegation competed with passion and perseverance, achieving results that consolidate the institution as a sports reference at the university level in Ecuador.
In athletics, UEES shone with the gold medal obtained by Danna Jorgge, a student of Medicine, in the long jump, consolidating her technical and physical mastery in this discipline. In addition to her performance, Diana Cadavid, from Clinical Psychology, won the silver medal in the 100 meter hurdles and the bronze medal in the long jump, as well as Isaac Vásquez, a student of Medicine, who won the silver medal in the 110 meter hurdles.
The performance of the delegation was completed with the performance of the relay team, which won a double bronze medal in the 4x100mts and 4x400mts relay, demonstrating the collective strength, tactical work and coordination among its members, as well as the physical and mental capacity to measure themselves against athletes of great level from all over the country.
In chess, UEES once again stood out with Marlon Aspiazu, a student of Medicine, who became Vice National University Champion, demonstrating strategy, concentration and a high competitive level against representatives of various institutions.
This reflects the effort, discipline and teamwork of our athletes, who left the name of #UEES high in a competition with a high level of sportsmanship.
