Dear students:
I send my warmest greetings. To all of you, my most fervent wish that you are well with your families. To those who have suffered painful losses and losses, we accompany you closely.
I want to inform you of some good news in these difficult days. The Espiritu Santo University will open from next Thursday, April 23rd, a special service for its students to treat Covid- 19, the UEESCLINIC.
This clinic, recently inaugurated, is for the service of its collaborators, teachers and students. This has been possible thanks to the various efforts made by our Chancellor, Dr. Carlos Ortega Maldonado, with various government agencies such as the Mayor's Office of the Municipality of Samborondón, Ministry of Public Health, Emergency Operations Committee (COE), foundations, organizations and the work of our teams, both the authorities and professors of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, as UEESCLINIC and molecular biology laboratory of the university.
As of Thursday, students who present confirmed symptoms of Covid-19 will have the following services free of charge: hospitalization, X-rays, electrocardiogram, ultrasound, medical attention and intensive care nursing. They will only have to cover the cost of payments to third parties such as blood tests and medicine.
UEESCLINIC services are exclusive for currently enrolled students, who should contact their respective deans, undergraduate and graduate directors in the face-to-face or online modality. They, in turn, based on the symptomatology agreed in the “UEESCLINIC Care Protocol for their students”, will inform Dr. Ketty Córdova, director of the UEES Medical Department for the authorization of the respective admission.
As you understand, despite our desire to serve all citizens, due to existing limitations we must first serve our community and then expand. Your life and your health are most important to us.
Receive a big hug and welcome to the new academic period in which we count on all of you.
Joaquín Hernández Alvarado Ph.D.
