The Universidad Espiritu Santo (UEES) celebrated its 25th anniversary of foundation on Thursday, December 5th in the Regent's Hall of the institution's Convention Center.
During the ceremony, alumni were recognized for their great work performance during 2019. Among them were: Juan José Yúnez Nowak; Sofía Almeida Fuentes, Pablo Arosemena Marriott, María Alejandra Muñoz Seminario, Sandra Cordero Gárate, Maríasol Pons Cruz, Annabelle Ledergerber, Rogelio Arosemena Navas, Pamela Hidalgo Simball and Abg. Raúl Ledesma Huerta.
The Dr. Carlos Ortega Maldonado, The Chancellor of the institution recalls the beginning of UEES:
«There were 38 students with whom we started the university in its first semester of life, today we have more than 10 thousand students in 33 undergraduate degrees and 15 graduate programs. Some of them in online mode.»
In addition, UEES gave special recognition to 2 media outlets and 1 journalist who in October were victims of vandalism for defending freedom of expression.

A medal and distinction was presented to Dr. Paolo Comanducci with the title of Professor Emeritus, Rector of the University of Genoa and international professor of the Postgraduate Faculty in the Masters of Law.
Minister of Government María Paula Romo also shared a few words at the solemn session:
«One of the tasks of universities is to ensure that institutions like this one or others not only transform the lives of those who pass through their classrooms but of their communities where they are located.»
He also congratulated on behalf of President Lenin Moreno and Vice President Otto Sonnenholzner on its 25th anniversary.
