The Universidad de Especialidades Espíritu Santo (UEES), through its Free Legal Clinic of the School of Law, Politics and Development, provides legal services free of charge to low-income people and priority groups, guaranteeing their access to a fair solution to legal problems of a social and family nature. This program not only contributes to improving the quality of life of the community, promoting dignified participation and reducing conflicts, but has also become an essential pillar for practical training.
Since its creation, the office has attended more than 3,135 consultations and sponsored 393 legal cases, reaffirming its commitment to access to justice and social welfare. Through this direct contact with the community, law students acquire a deep understanding of social challenges and develop competencies to offer effective solutions to legal conflicts. This experience shapes them as well-rounded professionals, committed to social justice and prepared to address societal issues.
The practice is also a valuable resource for law school professors, who find in it a space to enrich teaching by exposing students to real cases and current challenges. This interaction orients future lawyers towards a humanitarian and practical approach, promoting an education that goes beyond the classroom and actively contributes to the service of the community.
