300 students discussed climate change and social justice in a simulation of United Nations which seeks to train “agents of change” for the future.

Espiritu Santo University presents a new edition of UEESMUN, This initiative arose from students« interest in understanding the decisions that shape global destiny. This United Nations simulation has established itself as a transformative educational platform that aims to train »agents of change" capable of distinguishing between what is right and what is just internationally, multiplying this knowledge to future generations.

For three days, 300 university and high school students will assume the roles of representatives of UN member states, tackling real issues that demand innovative solutions. The high school students will participate in committees such as UNICEF, UNESCO and UNEP, while university students take on the Security Council and the G-20. Joint committees - UNHCR, FAO and UN Women - allow for intergenerational interaction, developing diplomatic skills essential to navigating contemporary multilateralism.

The choice of «COP 30: Towards Decisive Climate Action» as the central theme was diplomatically supported by Jorge Orozco, Chilean Consul in Guayaquil and veteran of four COPs, who opened the event: «You are no longer negotiating on behalf of countries...you are working for the planet, for all of humanity.», said Orozco.

This edition integrates social justice, inclusion of indigenous peoples and equitable development. «We are building for a generation that we will not see, for the future of humanity,» added the diplomat, consolidating UEESMUN as Guayaquil's most innovative platform for channeling youth diplomacy towards global solutions.
