Antonio Gómez, research professor at Universidad Espíritu Santo (UEES), participated as a visiting professor at Universidad Militar Nueva Granada (UMNG) in Bogotá, Colombia. During his academic stay, he taught biostatistics and occupational epidemiology, and gave specialized presentations on the profile of occupational safety and health in Ecuador, as well as on current research trends in this field. His interventions aroused considerable interest in the academic community and contributed to the strengthening of the international approach in this discipline.
In addition to his participation in classes and conferences, Gómez provided direct support to the program's research group, guiding projects and offering key observations that allowed significant progress in research initiatives in Occupational Safety and Health. His visit also led to a strategic meeting with the UMNG research team, where future paths of academic collaboration between the two institutions were discussed, including possibilities for formal alliances with UEES.
The impact of this stay was reflected at different levels: from the feedback on the academic curriculum of the UMNG to her participation in an interview on the institutional radio station, where she clearly addressed the challenges and opportunities of the professional field. This experience consolidated the role of UEES as an institution committed to international academic cooperation, projecting its capacity to generate knowledge and strengthen ties that transcend borders.
“This visit has been extremely enriching, allowing us to strengthen the ties of academic cooperation between our institutions, in addition to opening new perspectives for the joint development of research, training and knowledge transfer projects.”

Universidad Espíritu Santo (UEES), began its academic activities in 1994 as a private, self-financed, non-profit institution. Its spirit of commitment and constant innovation are present in the quality of the service it offers to its community.
