The Universidad Espiritu Santo (UEES) carried out the TEDx Open Mic, a unique opportunity where students and teachers put into practice their creativity to share their ideas in short speeches. Among the participants were undergraduate students, graduate students and teachers, five of whom were winners and are now part of the official speakers of the second edition, to be held on September 17.
The first TEDxUEES event was a success and had the theme “Progredi: Actions for a Better Future”, while this year it adopted a new, more inspiring concept: “Creatio: The Origin of all Possibility”.”, highlighting topics such as creativity, wellness and innovation.
Participants presented their ideas in a short three-minute format and were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges. The panel was formed by Benjamín Cortés, actor, stage director and teacher; Gretta Córdova, Ph.D. in Governance and Public Management, journalist and teacher; Adriana Peralta, reporter and news anchor; and Leticia Pino, director of the UEES Continuing Education Unit.
During the Open Mic, talent, vision and commitment were highlighted, with presentations related to the power of creativity, environment, among other topics of great interest to the public. Among the winners in the Undergraduate category were Pilar Briz, Media and Content Management student, Milena Romero, Marketing student and Yolibeth Pico, Marketing and Transmedia student. In the Graduate category, Jetzabel Pendolema, student of the Master's Degree in Quality Management, was chosen, and in the category of Teachers, Natalia Molina.
“What separates those who create from those who actually create change from those who transform? The audacity and courage to present yourself to the world, fail and try again. Because yes, we can all create but only a few dare to transform.” Milena Romero, Marketing student.
TEDxUEES offers a space for the university community to share innovative and transformative ideas that should be transmitted to the world. This event reaffirms the commitment of UEES with the formation of creative leaders, capable of generating a positive impact from their ideas.
