“It has been an incredible experience, difficult to assume as a reality to fulfill a goal like going to study in another country as an exchange student. Clearly it is different, the culture, the people, the food, but little by little I am adapting to make the most of this opportunity, which is given to me thanks to God, my family, my university, and the possibility of obtaining an excellent scholarship offered by the Canadian government.
I am grateful for the assistance I have received, from the IAO's communication about the ELAP scholarship, to the continuous advice and counseling on how to make the best use of this exchange semester. Classes have started, and the cultural difference with Canada and with exchange students from other countries is already noticeable. I am with excitement at 100% and look forward to fulfilling my goals this semester at the University of Lethbridge.”
“I have had so many emotions and experiences that one semester was not enough and I decided to stay for the whole year. Despite being in Spain I can say that I have been able to practice my English, thanks to my roommate, and a little French. It is true that sometimes you get homesick and miss your family, but the destination puts you with incredible people with the same situation as you and you quickly feel at home, and you even develop an ability to make new friends, from the plane I met a girl who was also traveling alone for the first time and we did not stop talking about the experiences that awaited us when we landed in Almeria.
I met people from many parts of Europe, Puerto Rico, Chile and many Mexicans, and as expected the Erasmus lifestyle is a lot of partying and traveling, however, we must not leave aside the hours of study, so once I finished my exams I decided to pack and meet as many European cities, this was certainly another dream come true.
I am sure that an exchange positively changes your life, because far from home you have to take care of yourself, be aware of your obligations and little by little you realize that you are a more mature, independent person and full of anecdotes that every time you remember it will fill you with happiness.”
