Renowned economists from Guayaquil and Quito participated yesterday in the 2016 Economic Outlook Panel, organized by Universidad Espíritu Santo (UEES) and Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ).
This panel of experts, which took place at the USFQ Coliseum, reviewed the macro and microeconomic performance of the country in 2015, in addition to an extensive analysis of what Ecuador will face in 2016 in different economic scenarios.
UEES was represented by Econ. Alberto Dahik, Director of the Center for Economic Studies and Development (CESDE) UEES; and Jorge Calderon, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences, who addressed various topics including the exchange stamp and the effectiveness of Ecuadorian microenterprises.
Other participants were: Pablo Vega, USFQ Professor; Sebastián Oleas, USFQ Professor; Juan Carlos Jácome, Superintendent of Control of Market Power; Santiago José Gangotena, USFQ Professor and Santiago Bucaram, Director of the Economic Institute of USFQ, who was the moderator of the meeting.
This panel was held at UEES on January 19 and was attended by more than 1,000 economists, students and authorities in Quito and Guayaquil.
