Dr. Iván Chérrez, recognized  an allergist and UEES research professor, has been elected by a near-unanimous vote to the steering committee of the Urticaria Centers of Reference and Excellence (UCARE), a leading global initiative of the Asthma and Allergy Network of Excellence. This appointment reflects his prominent development in the field of allergology and his commitment to the advancement of medicine internationally.

 

With a nine-year career within this network, Chérrez has been a key player in the development of studies on the management of urticaria, a dermatological condition that affects millions of people worldwide. His work at UCARE will contribute to decision-making on research, innovative studies and the design of educational programs focused on improving the treatment of this condition. Through this network, the creation of reference centers that provide specialized care and advanced treatments to patients with urticaria is encouraged.

UCARE, which aims to raise awareness of urticaria and encourage scientific research for its better management, has selected Chérrez from among three outstanding candidates from different parts of the world. During the next two years, his role will be fundamental in strengthening this network, contributing to the continuous improvement of best practices in the treatment of urticaria and the development of new therapies.
