Prototype application developed for natural risk management in Tarifa, Samborondón

UEES - Espiritu Santo University > News > Prototype application developed for natural risk management in Tarifa, Samborondón

The Faculty of Engineering of UEES, through the computer science career, developed a prototype of a mobile application for the collection of information from community committees in the parish of Tarifa, Samborondón. This initiative seeks to modernize and systematize community management of natural risks, optimizing the collection and management of data through technological tools.

The prototype made it possible to evaluate user interaction with the application, measure its level of acceptance and establish the basis for the development of future functional versions. In addition, the tool facilitates the filling out of the matrices of Ecuador's National Risk Management Secretariat, ensuring greater accuracy and efficiency in the handling of critical information. Six members of the community committees participated in the testing phase, providing key feedback on its usability. In addition, computer science students strengthened their skills in prototyping and applied technology, under the guidance of teachers who promoted the link with the community.

The project, executed between October 25 and December 18, 2024, promoted community participation and generated inputs for the development of future functional versions. The initiative reinforces the commitment to creating more resilient and sustainable communities.
