The Universidad Espiritu Santo (UEES) held an emotional institutional ceremony to officially designate the auditorium “Dr. Alfredo Palacio González”, as a posthumous tribute to his illustrious career as a physician, statesman and former president of Ecuador. During the ceremony, university authorities, family members and members of the community remembered his tireless work in the service of public health, his commitment to education and his valuable contribution to the development of the country.
The event included the intervention of the UEES Chancellor, Carlos Ortega Maldonado, who made an invitation to collect signatures to name works of the city in honor of the honoree. Subsequently, the unveiling of the official plaque of the auditorium, the reading of the commemorative text and the delivery of the agreement that supports this designation took place.
One of the most moving moments was the intervention of Dr. Alfredo Palacio's daughter, who offered a personal testimony about his human legacy. The event concluded with the official photo of the new auditorium, located on the 4th floor of Building E, which from today will be a space for critical thinking, dialogue and the formation of leaders with values, inspired by the life and principles of Alfredo Palacio.
