Biography

Alberto Dahik is Director of the Center for Economic and Social Studies for Development (CESDE) of the Universidad de Especialidades Espíritu Santo (UEES) and Vice President of Grupo Empresarial Amazonas. Dahik has held important public positions such as the Vice Presidency of Ecuador, the Presidency of the Monetary Board, the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, and the Technical Management of the Central Bank of Ecuador, among others. He is also a national and international lecturer and economic advisor in several institutions. He holds a Master's degree from Princeton University, and is an Economist and Mathematician from the University of Western Ontario.

Economic advisor of the Chamber of Commerce of Guayaquil. Economic Advisor of the Chamber of Construction of Guayaquil. Business advisor. Professor of monetary theory and policy at the University of Guayaquil. Professor of Mathematics at Universidad Politécnica del Litoral. Entrepreneur and real estate developer. Entrepreneur in the shrimp industry in Ecuador.
  • 1984-1987: Economic advisor to the President of Ecuador. President of the Monetary Board of Ecuador. Minister of Finance and Public Credit.
  • 1987: Director of the Conservative Party of Ecuador.
  • 1988-1992: National Legislator.
  • 1992-1995: Vice President of Ecuador.
  • 1994-1995: Co-founder and first chairman of the Advisory Council of Transparency International.
  • 1996-1998: Financial and business advisor. Advisor to the president and government of Paraguay. Columnist of the editorial page of the newspaper “La Prensa Libre” of Costa Rica and the newspaper “La Tribuna de Nicaragua”.
  • 1999-2014 Dedicated to his private, business and professional activities in San Jose, Costa Rica. He has been engaged in financial activities, real estate development, consulting.
