English Level

If you already have advanced proficiency in English, a level B2 fully passed and you have international certificate of accreditation, you may be exempted from the placement test requirement by presenting such certificate. at the University's Language School.

To do so, you must comply with the following:

  • Submit the official certificate with the scores achieved in the international recognition.
  • It must be accredited the fulfillment of, at least, level B2 fully passed, according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

The following tests are accepted:

  • TOEFL. With a minimum score of 90. Not less than 22 in each of the competencies.
  • IELTS. With a minimum score of 6.5 in each competency.
  • Cambridge First Certificate (FCE) or Cambridge English Advance (CAE). With a minimum score of 179 in each competency.
  • International Baccalaureate (IB). The English score cannot be lower than 6.
  • ECCE. With a minimum score of 800 in each competition.
  • MET. With a minimum score of 63 in each competition.
  • PEARSON. With a minimum score of 63 in each competition.

Additionally:

  • Exams taken in online mode are not accepted.
  • The certificates must have a maximum age of 2 years, from the time the test was performed.
  • Everything will be validated before acceptance. If it cannot be validated, it will not be accepted.
  • International exams must have been taken with a photo.
  • It is the student's responsibility to verify the legitimacy of the center where he/she will take the exam.
  • The university reserves the right to summon students for validation.

UEES English Placement Exams

  • The university offers students the possibility to identify their English language level with at least one monthly test.
  • The fee for these exams is 10% of the student's tuition.
  • Failure to appear for the exam at the established date and time will result in the loss of the license.
  • The validity of the exam for students who have fully passed the B2 level is two years.
  • The validity of the exam for students who have not fully passed the B2 level is one year.
  • The university reserves the right to summon students to take additional oral and written tests. The results obtained in these tests will determine the level of English achieved.
