Target

El objetivo de la Especialidad es formar profesionales médicos especialistas en Endocrinología con capacidad para la prestación de servicios de salud a los pacientes con patologías endocrinas con calidad técnica, científica, social y humana, que les permitan brindar una atención médica integral a los pacientes.

Aimed at

Los aspirantes a la especialización en Endocrinología deberán ser profesionales en Medicina con título de tercer nivel de grado registrado en el Sistema Nacional de Información de Educación Superior (SNIESE) y ante la Autoridad Sanitaria Nacional a través de Agencia de Aseguramiento de la Calidad de los Servicios de Salud y Medicina Prepagada -ACESS- o a quien haga sus veces. En el caso de que el título de tercer nivel de grado sea obtenido en el exterior, el estudiante para inscribirse en el programa deberá presentarlo a la IES debidamente apostillado o legalizado por vía consular.

Al concluir su formación como especialista en Endocrinología

 

  • El egresado del programa de Endocrinología estará capacitado para atender y resolver las diversas patologías relacionadas al área de estudio que incluyen habilidades intelectuales, resolutivas, críticas y analíticas fundamentales para el desarrollo de una minuciosa historia clínica y un examen físico que lo orientan a solicitar los exámenes de laboratorio e imágenes necesarias para un diagnóstico preciso y un tratamiento adecuado aprovechando los recursos disponibles.
  • Realizará un correcto esquema de tratamiento de patologías endócrinas, dará seguimiento y vigilará la respuesta terapéutica, conocerá los efectos adversos del exceso o deficiencia hormonal incluyendo cuando éstas se producen de forma iatrogénica. Interpretará pruebas dinámicas de laboratorio hormonal, de inmunología y genéticos, así como los estudios de imágenes, tomografía, gammagrafía, tomografía por emisión de positrones/tomografía computada (PET/CT), densitometría ósea y resonancia magnética de órganos endócrinos, entre otros.
  • Trabajará en equipo con otros profesionales de la salud en actividades que estimulen la investigación a nivel clínico y/o básico, aplicando conocimientos de epidemiología, fisiopatología, biología molecular y medicina basada en la evidencia para contribuir al adecuado manejo de las enfermedades de origen endocrino y/o metabólico y publicará hallazgos de investigaciones científicas relacionadas a este campo de conocimiento.
  • Fomentará y dirigirá actividades que favorezcan al desarrollo de su capacidad para pasar a la acción asumiendo riesgos previsibles, dentro del marco normativo y legal, para alcanzar objetivos programados, estimulará la lectura y espíritu crítico que lo mantendrán actualizado.
  • Desarrollará jornadas de promoción y prevención a nivel comunitario, para difundir y enriquecer a las culturas y saberes dirigida a los pacientes y su entorno en el manejo de enfermedades endócrinas con la finalidad de disminuir la incidencia de enfermedades como la diabetes, obesidad, hipercolesterolemia, osteoporosis, problemas tiroideos, trastornos del crecimiento, entre otras.
  • Tendrá una sólida formación ética y moral, crítica y autocrítica y una clara motivación para compartir sus conocimientos y aportará al crecimiento personal, del equipo de trabajo y para beneficio de los pacientes.
  • Apoyará el derecho a la salud, el trato humano y justo con los pacientes, familiares, colegas y el equipo de atención médica.
  • Liderará con el ejemplo y orientará su práctica profesional hacia la atención clínica en el marco del diálogo de saberes, interculturalidad y enfoque de género de los pacientes y su entorno a través de un modelo de trabajo profesional y competente.

Requirements

Requirements to participate in the contest

The applicant must upload all the supporting and merit documentation scanned in PDF format.

All documents must be notarized copies.

Documents that support the suitability of the applicants (in case of not uploading the complete documentation, the applicant will not be allowed to continue with the competition process).

  • Color copy of updated Identity Card.
  • Copy of identity card or passport (for foreigners).
  • 1 recent color photograph 
  • Copy of third level degree.
  • Be a professional in the field of specific health knowledge with a third level degree registered in the National System of Higher Education Information, SNIESE / SENESCYT and to the health authority ACESS, or whoever takes its place.
  • Have passed the professional qualification examination of the CACES, if applicable.
  • Certificate of proficiency level of at least A1 in a language other than the mother tongue.
  • Certificate of Rural Medicine.
  • Certificate of final grade (the university reserves the right to calculate the IMG).

Documents for merit qualification, Notarized (30 points)

  • Certificates of medical training courses endorsed by an institution of higher education, with a minimum duration of 40 hours and with evaluation,  Attach the image of the call for the course. (To be scored with 0.5 each, with a maximum of 2 points) 
  • Publications and/or letters of acceptance for publication in indexed journals or books; as principal author or co-author. LATINDEX, MIAR, SCOPUD, SCIELO, MEDLINE, PUBMED, LILACS. (To be scored with 0.5 each, with a maximum of 4 points).
  • Postgraduate studies: doctorate (PhD. or equivalent), specialization and/or master's degree in the area of health registered in the SNIESE/SENESCYT. 2 points will be recognized for PHD, 2 points for Specializations and 1 for Master's Degree.
  • Teaching assistantships, practical or theoretical tutorships in higher education institutions, duly certified by the competent authority, obtained through merit and competitive examinations., during their academic training. Scoring will be 0.5 each period of assistantship, maximum 2 points.
  • Awards for academic merit and/or research, granted by an institution of higher education or one of the country's academic teaching units, during their training. third-level academic. 0.5 will be recognized for each one, maximum of 2 points.
  •  
  • Full and half scholarships academic by national or foreign institutions of higher education or any other entity.. A score of 1 point will be given for each scholarship, maximum 2 points.
  • Duly documented clinical-surgical assistance activity, including work history (Consolidated from the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security or other qualifying documents). In third and second level hospitals. 1 point for each continuous calendar year of activities, up to a maximum of 2 points.
  • Participation in research projects duly endorsed by an institution of higher education, a research institution and/or certificates of lecturer or speaker in endorsed academic meetings. Attach the image of the congress or call for proposals. A score of 1 point will be given for each participation or certificate, up to a maximum of 2 points.
  • Affirmative action certification, according to the technical standard of the regulatory entity in force, issued by the corresponding governmental entity. It will be scored with 0.25 points.

In addition to all the provisions of Resolution RPC-SE-08-No.023-2022, codified, which contains the Rules for the Conduct of Merit and Opposition Competitions to access the Medical Specialty Programs.

Requirements for publications

  • Recognized journals (LATINDEX, MIAR, SCOPUD, SCIELO, MEDLINE, PUBMED, LILACS). Maximum number of participants (5)
  • Publications related to the specialty. In case of books or chapters in collective works, send notarized copy of the book cover (Q1, Q2; Q3; Q4 IMPACT FACTOR) (CLINICAL CASE VALUE WITH A MAXIMUM OF 5 ART. SCORE AND THE LITERATURE REVIEW MUST BE OF HIGH IMPACT.

On the competitive examinations (70 points)

The competitive examination will be conducted through the CTO platform, according to the established schedule.

Admission requirements

  • Winner of a merit-based competitive examination.
  • Submit the documents required by the University and UAD.
  • Present certification of affiliation with the Social Security Institute. 
  • To pay the registration fee and the first tuition fee before the beginning of the program.

The assignment of the Base Hospital will be made according to the score obtained by the winners; that is, the applicant who obtains the highest score will decide in which hospital he/she wishes to perform his/her medical specialty, and so on with the other winners.

  • Ser profesional en el campo del conocimiento específico de la salud con título de
    tercer nivel de grado registrado en el Sistema Nacional de Información de Educación

    sus veces.
  • Haber aprobado el examen de habilitación profesional del CACES, en el caso que
    corresponda.

  • Certificado del Indicador de Méritos de Graduación, la universidad se reserva el
    derecho de calcular el IMG.

Documentos para calificación de méritos (30 puntos)

  • Certificados de cursos de formación médica avalados por una institución de educación superior, con una duración mínima de 40 horas y con evaluación.
  • Publicaciones y/o cartas de aceptación de publicación de revistas indexadas o libros; como autor principal o coautor. 
  • Estudios de postgrado: doctorado (PhD. o equivalente), especialización y/o
    maestría, en el área de la salud registrada en el SNIESE/SENESCYT.
  • Ayudantías de cátedra, tutores de práctica o teórica en las instituciones de educación superior, debidamente certificada por la autoridad competente, obtenidas mediante concursos de méritos y oposición.
  • Premios al mérito académico y/o a la investigación, otorgados por una institución de educación superior o una de las unidades docentes académicas del país.
  • Becas completas o medias becas académicas cumplidas otorgadas por instituciones de educación superior nacionales o extranjeras u otra entidad.
  • Actividad asistencial clínico – quirúrgica debidamente documentada que incluya el historial laboral (mecanizado del Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social u otros documentos habilitantes).
  • Participación en proyectos de investigación debidamente avalados por una institución de educación superior, una institución de investigación.
  • Certificados de conferencista o ponente en reuniones académicas avaladas.
  • Certificación de acción afirmativa, según la norma técnica de la entidad regulatoria vigente.

Además de todo lo dispuesto en la resolución RPC-SE-08-No.023-2022, codificadas que contienen las Normas para la realización de los Concursos de Méritos y Oposición para acceder a los Programas de especialidades Médicas.
