Professional profile to be obtained

The graduate of the master's program will be a professional with the competencies to:

  • To develop efficiently in the field of substantive and adjective criminal law.
  • To master the basic elements of criminology and its related sciences that allow the adequate performance in the criminal process.
  • Develop skills in oral litigation techniques.
  • Develop proposals aimed at promoting proactive changes in the application of criminal law.
  • To formulate a holistic vision of the auxiliary sciences of criminal law, its application and effects on Ecuadorian society.
  • To have a vision of the institutions of the criminal process in the comparative study of Ecuadorian and international domestic legislation.
  • To understand the different theoretical-dogmatic schools of Criminal Law with their practical implications.
  • To carry out an effective interdisciplinary analysis of social conflict and the solutions provided by Criminal Law.
  • To understand the social and individual factors that determine the subject's criminal behaviors.
  • To understand the legal system with an intercultural and inclusive vision of vulnerable groups, as well as with a perspective of protection of the rights of women and members of the nuclear family.

Admission Process

  1. Fill out the digital admission form, making sure to upload the following mandatory documents:
    • Identity card.
    • Title registration in Senescyt.
    • In the case of degrees issued abroad, the diploma must be duly apostilled or consular legalized.
  2. Make the payment of the registration fee (option included at the end of the digital form).
  3. Perform aptitude test.
  4. English test: A1 proficiency is required.
  5. Interview with the Director of the master's program.
