Our Master's Degree in Constitutional Law includes an international diploma in Theory of Legal Argumentation, with certification conferred by the University of Genoa and the Graduate School of Law of Espiritu Santo University. This diploma course will be homologated with the subject Legal Argumentation.

To train fourth level professionals capable of understanding in depth the fundamentals of procedural institutions, their relevance as a mechanism for the peaceful resolution of controversies and their role as an indispensable tool to guarantee the rights of the parties and defendants within the framework of the administration of justice.

Our Master's Degree in Constitutional Law includes an international diploma in Theory of Legal Argumentation, with certification conferred by the University of Genoa and the Graduate School of Law of Espiritu Santo University.

This diploma will deepen in topics related to this field of the master's degree with the option to homologate the subject of legal argumentation.

University of Dayton - School of Law

Our master's students will be able to apply for a second degree simultaneously: Online Master of Laws (LL.M.), American and Transnational Law, at the University of Dayton School of Law.

Among the benefits to which our master's degree students will have access:

  • Get a discount between 50% and 74% off the original value of the Online LL.M. from the University of Dayton School of Law.
  • Up to 10 credits validable in the Online LL.M. from the University of Dayton School of Law.
  • Graduates of the Online LLM. are eligible to sit for the state bar exams in Washington and California, allowing them to practice law in those states.
  • The University of Dayton is part of Senescyt's list of accredited foreign universities.

In order to access the benefits contemplated in the agreement, students of the Graduate School of Law must obtain their Master's degree from UEES.

Law professionals with a third level degree, duly registered with SENESCYT.

Professional profile to be obtained

The graduate of the master's program will be a professional with the competencies to:

  • To formulate a holistic view of contemporary constitutionalism, its application and effects on Ecuadorian society.
  • Identify and assimilate the effects of irradiation generated by the constitutional state of rights and justice.
  • Critically evaluate, from reality, the effectiveness of the theories and norms that make up the constitutional system.
  • To assimilate the normativity of constitutional values, principles and rules and their effects on the way of interpreting and applying the norms.
  • To unravel the design and effectiveness of constitutional rights and guarantees in Ecuador.
  • Resolve affectations or threats to constitutional rights through the adequate use of constitutional guarantees.
  • To understand the role of the State in the protection and guarantee of people's rights.
  • Contribute to the protection and guarantee of the rights of priority groups.
  • To unravel the essential content of constitutional rights.
  • To understand the effects and scope of the plurinational and intercultural nature of the State.
  • To formulate public policy proposals, with intercultural and gender parameters, to achieve the minimum necessary for the effective enjoyment of rights.
  • Understand and apply standards of international human rights protection systems.
  • Adequately exercise the control of constitutionality and conventionality.
  • To assimilate the value of constitutional jurisprudence as a source of permanent evaluation of the effectiveness of the Constitutional State.

Admission Process

  1. Fill out the digital admission form, making sure to upload the following mandatory documents:
    • Identity card.
    • Title registration in Senescyt.
    • In the case of degrees issued abroad, the diploma must be duly apostilled or consular legalized.
  2. Make the payment of the registration fee (option included at the end of the digital form).
  3. Perform aptitude test.
  4. English test: A1 proficiency is required.
  5. Interview with the Director of the master's program.
