Entry Profile

Professionals with a third level degree preferably in the field of law; other fields of knowledge must accredit 2 years of experience in the maritime, port, customs, international business and related fields. The program is aimed at professionals wishing to deepen their technical-legal training, highly committed to the study and application of the institutions and regulations governing the maritime sector, ports and customs in order to obtain specialized training to meet the new professional challenges within the legal world and foreign trade.

Objectives

To train fourth level professionals, who possess a solid legal background in areas of law related to the commercial aspect of the sea, capable of understanding in depth the fundamentals of the legal institutions that regulate maritime law, the management of ports and customs at national and international level, as well as their impact on transportation and sea life, as a means of conducting business at local and global scale; that promotes scientific research, which will allow them to solve legal problems in new environments characterized by globalization, applying the rules with speed and expertise within an ethical, technical and socially responsible framework.

Professional profile to be obtained

The graduate of the master's program will be a professional with the competencies to:

  • Understand the local and international legal regime of maritime, port and customs law.
  • Advise in the area of Public and Private Law, in the maritime, ports, customs and international trade fields, due to the entry into operation of new ports and Public-Private Partnerships schemes.
  • Plan, negotiate and prepare international trade contracts and any other kind of commercial instruments for their correct execution, within the applicable legal framework and in relation to the specific mode of transport.
  • Advise and litigate in legal conflicts generated in foreign trade related to the transportation of goods and people by sea, land and air.
  • Apply the conceptual tools, negotiation strategies and litigation skills obtained from the knowledge of the legal institutions of maritime law and that allow the student to advise on the rights of seafarers and fishermen; as well as apply the aspects related to International Maritime Law, as a massive means of transportation of goods.

Admission Process

 
  1. Fill out the digital admission form, making sure to upload the following mandatory documents.
    • Identity card.
    • Title registration in Senescyt.
    • In the case of degrees issued abroad, the diploma must be duly apostilled or consular legalized.
  2. Make the payment of the registration fee (option included at the end of the digital form).
  3. Perform aptitude test.
  4. Interview with the Director of the master's program.
