Entry Profile

Professionals with a degree in languages or pedagogy duly registered in SENESCYT. In case the student has a degree in a different field, he/she must certify two years of full-time EFL teaching experience or, four years of part-time experience. In this case, ONE of the following international English language teaching certificates will also be required: TKT (Modules 1, 2 and 3), TKT KAL, TKT CLIL, CELTA, DELTA, TESOL Certificate, TESOL Diploma.

Objectives

To train fourth level professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote the teaching of English as a foreign language, ensuring for the future of Ecuador a highly qualified teaching staff that promotes continuous improvement in language programs.

Schedule

Duration of the program: 12 months.
Schedules available: Saturdays and Sundays 9:00 - 17:00 (every 15 days)

Agreements and covenants

Means of payment

Enrollment and tuition in the master's program can be cancelled in the following ways:

Tuition fees for the program will be paid exclusively at the UEES web services portal or at Banco Bolivariano and Banco Pichincha.

In all cases the student code or ID number must be used.

Professional profile to be obtained

The graduate of the master's program will be a professional with the competencies to:

  • To know the theoretical and practical aspects of current educational trends, focused on the teaching of English as a foreign language.
  • Create and implement lesson plans adapted to different contexts and based on learning theories and teaching methods, applying current methodologies, taking into account their own and other teachers' pedagogical reflections and experiences.
  • Design effective and efficient English language programs, taking into account stakeholder needs and contextual constraints.
  • Manage the fields of action of the educational centers with an effective leadership according to the context of each center.
  • Analyze their own classroom decisions and experiences, as well as those of their peers by learning from positive practices and providing feedback, thus creating collaborative communities for continuous improvement in English language teaching nationwide.
  • Practice constant learning from both their own and their colleagues' experiences using methodologies for teaching English as a foreign language.
  • Appreciate and value differences among students such as personality differences, learning styles, motivations, and previous educational experiences.

Admission Process

  1. Fill out the admission form and submit it together with your identity card.
  2. Make payment of the registration fee. $300
  3. Submit the following admission documents:

    • 2 color copies of the voting certificate.
    • 2 color copies of the notarized third level diploma. For foreigners: apostilled third level diploma.
    • Copy of a card issued by the MSP showing the percentage of disability (if applicable).
    • 2 copies of the title registration in SENESCYT.
    • 2 copies of updated resume.
    • 2 passport size photos.
  4. Perform aptitude test.
  5. English language test: Your B2 CEFR science is required. This requirement may be waived with the presentation of any of the following certificates obtained in the last two years: FCE, ECCE, CAE, CPE, ECPE, TOEFL iBT (minimum 80, with no less than 17 in any skill) or IELTS (minimum 6.5, with no less than 6.00 in any skill).
  6. In case of a third level degree in a field other than teaching, it will be required:

    • 2 copies of certificate of two years of full-time EFL teaching experience or four years of part-time EFL teaching experience.
    • 2 copies of one of the following international English language teaching certificates: TKT (Modules 1, 2 and 3), TKT KAL, TKT CLIL, CELTA, ICELT, DELTA, TESOL Certificate, TESOL Diploma.
  7. Interview with the Director of the Master's Program.
