University Social Responsibility

SDG 13

SDG 13

In the face of the global environmental crisis, marked by excessive population growth and unsustainable resource use, our planet Earth is facing an accelerated depletion of its natural resources. In response to this problem, in 2015 the United Nations adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a universal call to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and ensure peace and prosperity for all by 2030. These goals seek to address current challenges to improve the quality of life today and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.

In this context, UEES Sostenible, a club dedicated to promoting and disseminating the principles of sustainability throughout the campus, was created. Its purpose is to foster a culture of responsible consumption and production through campaigns, activities, workshops, and conferences with invited experts. Through these actions, it seeks to raise awareness among the university community and provide strategic tools to address the environmental crisis in a comprehensive manner. In addition, the club facilitates active participation in environmental projects and provides practical information to improve the management and perception of sustainability on campus, promoting a university environment committed to conservation and respect for the environment.

Sustainable UEES is committed to inspiring new generations to adopt solutions from different disciplines to address the challenges of sustainable development. Through responsible and resource-efficient practices, the club aims to establish a positive impact both within and outside the UEES community, promoting a cultural shift towards conscious consumption and more effective environmental management in all areas of university and social life.
